RBC GAM appoints APAC head

RBC Global Asset Management has appointed former Deutsche AWM managing director Ken Tam to serve as head of Asia.

Based in Hong Kong, Tam will oversee RBC GAM’s business in Asia-Pacific, excluding BlueBay Asset Management.

He will report to Clive Brown, CEO and managing director of RBC GAM International.

Tam has 25 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently, he was managing director and head of global client group in Asia Pacific ex-Japan at Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management.

Before that, he worked for 19 years at JP Morgan Asset Management, where he held a number of senior roles, including managing director, head of North Asia.

He began his career in 1988 at Price Waterhouse and is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

RBC GAM, part of RBC Wealth Management, has $300bn in assets under management and has approximately 1,300 employees in North America, Europe and Asia.
